Name: Edward Carnby

Description: Edward Carnby is tall, thin and resembles a butler more than anything else. His reddish brown hair, now with a couple streaks of grey, is in a conservative haircut that would have looked right at home in the '30s and the style of suits he wears, though new, still seem a bit older in style. He wears a mustache which he keeps very neatly trimmed, sometimes he also wears a small chin tuft. His green eyes are slightly large for his face, but not off-putting and they sparkle with intelligence and curiosity.

Personality: Carnby is, or rather, was a realist. He is old fashioned in his views, but not a staunch conservative. He tends to be rather quiet, unless he's having a few drinks with his mates at the local pub, which he does about once a week. He tends to listen more than speak unless he's relaxed, enjoys baseball and avoids discussions about politics. After the incidents in Derceto he has become a little nervous. He's the type of man to always open the door for ladies, will not swear around ladies and will enjoy a nice cigar or pipe every so often. A plate-lunch kind of guy.

Biography: Edward Carnby was born in Boston, and spent his most of his childhood there. He did very well in school, but enlisted in the military instead of going to college. A couple tours in foreign wars seasoned him and introduced him to a brief stint with Military Intelligence. That did last long, on his second mission he was shot in the knee and sent home.

He had no real ties to Boston, so he decided to relocate to New Orleans. He spent ten years with NOPD, quickly becoming a detective. He grew tired of the corruption in NOPD and voluntarily quit, opening up his own private detective office. Through the years he's apprenticed a few detectives, but usually it's just him and his secretary.

Two years ago he was paid for a quick survey of a large mansion just outside of New Orleans. The probate office wanted him to survey the property and all the valuables inside the mansion after the owner's suicide. The events that occured in that house have taken him a lot of time to get over. He still dreams occasionally about them. But ever the practical man, he's begun to study and prepare for more of the bizarre and unexplained rather than suppress it.

Hobbies: Carnby enjoys baseball a great deal, though after his knee injury he can no longer play. He enjoys classic English literature and the occasional hard-boiled detective novel. On weekends or slow days he goes to his favourite pub to throw darts or shoot a game of pool with the boys.

Quirks/habits: Edward has a habit of folding his hands and frowning when people talk to him. Not in a mean or angry way, but an expression of deep concentration. He does this because he also has a habit of tapping his pen while listening and talking and he finds this habit of his to be very rude. And he seems to take even the most bizarre events without raising an eyebrow.
